Miss USA 1962
In 1962, she became the winner of the Miss USA and the first Asian American woman . [1] [2] Entered Top 15 at the Miss Universe 1962 international beauty pageant contest . She later participated in the Orange Bowl Parade in Miami , when Miss Universe Norma Nolan fell ill with measles . [3] Appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson, October 16, 1962. [four]
Life in Denmark and Tunisia
In 1967, he moved to Copenhagen , Denmark and married Jens Henrik Paknessa, a civil engineer by training. She studied at the University of Copenhagen and drawing in private classrooms. She also began working as a film editor at the Danish Broadcasting Corporation . Between 1973–1976, she lived with her family in Tunisia , where she continued to study art at the Tunisian School of Fine Arts in Bardo . In 1977, she returned to Copenhagen. In 1978, she resumed work as a film editor at the Danish Broadcasting Corporation until she left in 2000.
