Yuri Ivanovich Istratov ( 1928 - 2007 ) - Soviet film artist, painter and graphic artist [1] ; Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1973); Member of the Union of Cinematographers and the Union of Artists of the Russian Federation.

Biography
Born on January 29, 1928 in Sverdlovsk.
In 1948 he graduated from the Sverdlovsk Art College , then - the art faculty of VGIK in Moscow (1954).
In 1950-1980 he worked as a production designer at the Sverdlovsk film studio ; took part in the production of many films that received awards of film festivals. He also worked on Sverdlovsk television, a participant in more than 50 exhibitions - all-Union, republican, regional and personal. [2]
In 1994, Yuri Istratov, together with the film expert and editor Lev Eglit, opened the Museum of the Sverdlovsk Film Studio in Yekaterinburg. [3]
He died on November 24, 2007 in Yekaterinburg. He was buried at the Mikhailovsky cemetery .

- Prizes of the Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region for outstanding achievements in the field of literature and art (2002).
