Church of st. Priscilla in Taxco de Alarcon

Church of st. Priscilla ( Spanish: Templo de Santa Prisca ) - a Catholic church, built in the Mexican Baroque style in 1748-1758. The architects of the church were Cayetano de Sigüenza, Diego Duran and Juan Caballero. The temple is located on the main square of the city of Taxco de Alarcon (state of Gerrero ). The temple was created at the expense of the silver magnate Jose de la Borda. In the 18th century, it was the tallest church in Mexico. The first rector of the temple was Manuel de la Borda - the son of Jose. The church has a Latin cross in plan and is equipped with paired bell towers . As a building material used pink stone. The western facade of the building is richly decorated with a bas-relief of the scene of the Epiphany . An octagonal dome rises above the altar. Indoors are 9 gold-decorated altars. Also, the interior of the temple is decorated with paintings by the artist Miguel Cabrera [1]
