History
Industrial development began in 1933 by the Kerch Metallurgical Plant .
Feature
The field is located in the southwestern part of the Crimean Mountains , composed of carbonate deposits of the Upper Jurassic layers with a thickness of up to 1200. The deposit area is divided by tectonic disturbances (discharges, deposits) into separate blocks, within which five sections have been explored. The total reserves of limestone are about 650 million tons (conditioned limestones - 85.1%, including 68.1% of flux).
Development Technology
It includes quarries , processing plants, mechanical repair shops, etc.
Two quarries are operating (2000): Psilerakhsky and Zapadno-Kadykovsky , which have production capacities of 4.5 and 2.6 million tons per year, respectively. Rock mining with bore charges, excavation with excavators , transportation with dump trucks . Delivery of limestone to the Balaklava processing plant is carried out by a conveyor line (length 1100m). Limestone enrichment - in multi-section washing machines. The Balaklava mine department produces flux limestone and crushed stone for construction work.
Product Sales
The company supplies limestone to the Crimean Soda Plant and the Abinsk Electrometallurgical Plant [3] .
