View of the Balaklava Valley from Sapun Mountain
Balaklava Valley - a valley in the Crimea , in the vicinity of Sevastopol .
Located between Balaklava Bay , Fedyukhiny Heights , Sapun Mountain on the Karan plateau. In the center of the valley are a chain of low hills - Semyakin heights.
The prevailing area is vineyards. The valley passes the highway Sevastopol - Yalta .
Residential settlements: Kadykovka (in the south, Balaklava district), Pervomaika (in the north), Zolotaya Balka (or the 10th km of the Balaklava highway).
The winery "Golden Beam".
On October 13, 1854, the Battle of Balaklava , one of the largest battles of the Crimean War, took place in the valley. In memory of those who fell in battle, several monuments were installed [1] .
