Biography

Born in the family of a bank employee Severin Kzhizhanyak and Zofia Povelskaya. Before the war, she lived in Poznan, where she graduated from the General Jan Zamoysky Gymnasium, entered the University of Poznan , where she studied polonics . I did not finish my studies in connection with the outbreak of war. Together with her husband Stanislav Belzhinsky (a sociologist by profession) and two children in the autumn of 1939 left Poznan and settled in the town of Nisko nad Xian. In 1940-1941, her husband was a prisoner of the Auschwitz concentration camp, but soon fled from there, and the family moved to Stalevo Volya.

Stanislav joined the Army of Craiova, received the call sign "Kret" ( Polish. Kret ), served in the detachment "Niva" in the security service Kedyv . Kristina, using her name as a call sign, also joined her husband in the squad and took part in some partisan actions. On May 18, 1944, Stanislav died during the liquidation by the Gestapo forces of the Niva detachment, and Kristina soon left for Warsaw. There, as a shooter and liaison officer, she served in the Kedyv detachment of the Home Army, the company of Lieutenant Roman "Fields" of Kiznego. She participated as a liaison in the Warsaw Uprising as part of the Radoslav battle group on the Volya-Stare-Miasto-Kanaly-Srudmessie-Gurny-Chernyakuv line.

According to some, Christine died on September 19, 1944; for others, between September 22 and 24. According to the official version, this happened during the crossing of the Vistula. Posthumously awarded the Cross of the Brave.
