Role in the plot [2]

Game of Thrones

Together with the mercenary, Chigette was in a hotel at the crossroads when Katilyn Stark demanded help from those present to arrest Tyrion Lannister. Counting on a generous reward, Bronn and Chigette offered her their services. However, on the way, Bronn was imbued with sympathy for Tyrion, he liked the dwarf with his courage and sense of humor. At the same time, communication with Lady Stark suggested to him that she should not wait for a particularly generous award.

After arriving in the Valley, Bronn insisted on climbing to the Eagle's Nest with the captive. Tyrion became exhausted during the ascent, and the mercenary carried it on his shoulders. Later, when Tyrion demanded a duel from Lisa Arren, it was Bronn who volunteered to fight for him. In battle, he defeated and killed Sir Vardis Igen. After that, Lady Lisa ordered to expel Tyrion and Bronn for the Blood Gate to certain death. From this moment, the mercenary entered the service of the dwarf.

Battle of the Kings

Tyrion, after his appointment as Desnitsy, made Bronn an officer of the city guard and commander of his guard. Bronn carried out the most important tasks, in addition, he was entrusted with a set of mercenaries for the defense of the Royal Harbor. In the event of victory, Bronn and his best people were promised a knighthood.

During the battle on Chernovodnaya, Bronn commanded the defense of defensive towers on the river. After the victory, he was knighted and became known as Ser Bronn the Blackwater. His coat of arms is a glowing green chain on a smoky gray background. Kivan Lannister paid him off and dismissed his squad.

Storm of Swords

Left without work, Bronn was about to enter the service of Randyll Tarley, but the recovering Tyrion again called him to his place. He was instructed to find out everything about the past of Syr Mendon Moore. He did not succeed in this, but he fulfilled another assignment - the murder of singer Simon Silver Tongue.

When Tyrion was accused of regicide, Cersei Lannister, fearing that Bronn would again become the champion of the dwarf, bribed the mercenary. She organized the marriage of Bronn and Lollis Stockworth. The latter, an old maid , ugly and stupid, was gang-raped during the riot in Royal Harbor. She was pregnant, and she had to be urgently married. Since the older sister and heiress of Stockworth, Falis had no children, Bronn decided that his chances of getting a girl were great, and agreed to get married. However, he still visited Tyrion in prison. When asked why Bronn did this, the mercenary replied that the dwarf promised to give a double price if they wanted to buy it. Tyrion could not give him more Cersei, and he left him.

Vulture Feast

Arriving at Stockworth, Bronn began to gather for himself a small detachment of mercenaries, taking on the service of at least four boundary knights. Soon, Lady Tanda fell off her horse and broke her hip. The accident occurred due to the fault of the groom, but may have been organized by Bronn. When Lollis gave birth to a son, Bronn with his usual black humor ordered him to be called Tyrion. This rude joke infuriated Queen Cersei, and she ordered Falisa's husband, Sir Balman Burch, to kill the mercenary. He did not come up with anything better than to challenge Bronn to a duel. As a famous tournament fighter, Birch hoped to easily defeat a former mercenary who did not understand anything in a spear battle. However, an honest fight did not work: Bronn delivered a treacherous blow to the opponent’s horse. The fallen horse broke Birch both legs, Bronn forbade him to help, promising to relieve him of his misery only when he tells who ordered him to be killed. When Sire Balman told everything, Bronn finished him off with a dagger in the eye, then robbed Falis and drove her out of the castle. Soon, Lady Tanda died (perhaps again not without the help of Bronn), and the mercenary declared himself the new Lord of Stockworth.

Winter Winds

According to George Martin, Bronn will appear in The Winds of Winter, because his story is not yet complete [1] .

In film adaptation

In the television series Game of Thrones , the role of Bronn is played by the English actor Jerome Flynn .

The storyline of Bronn in the fifth season completely departs from books and in the main points repeats the storyline of Aris Ockhart [3] , and starting from the fourth season, repeats the storyline of Ilyn Payne [4] [5] .

Season One

It was Bronn in the hotel at the intersection who gives way to Tyrion Lannister (in the book this is done by another, nameless mercenary). The battle between Bronn and Ser Vardis Eigen does not take place in the garden of the Eagle's Nest, but directly in the throne room. Eugene almost manages to push Bronn into the Moon Door, which in the series is a horizontal hatch in the floor and is open at the time of the battle. Bronn takes advantage - heapes a heavy candlestick in front of the enemy, hides behind the columns, pushes the Arrenov guard in front of him. In the end, after winning the battle, he thrusts his sword into the lumen of the armor and ejects the enemy into the Moon Door.

Season Two

In the second season, Bronn is not only one of Tyrion's trusted people - he replaces the absent from the series Jaselin Bywater: Tyrion makes him the new commander of the gold cloaks instead of the Janos Slint sent to the Wall.

Season Three

In the third season, the Bronn storyline in the series is close to the book.

Season Four

In season four, Bronn replaces Ilyn Payne and trains Jaime Lannister to fencing with his left hand. Moreover, in battle, he often uses dishonest tricks, for example, takes Jaime’s golden hand and punches the latter in the face, which makes him fall down and lose the battle. When Tyrion is going to be tried for the murder of Joffrey, Jaime discusses this with Bronn during class and he says that the dwarf is hardly guilty, even though he "hated the asshole." Tyrion also asks Podrick Payne to bring Bronn to his cell, but he says that the guards are forbidden to let the thug go.

As in the book, Bronn visits Tyrion before a court duel and announces his engagement to Lollys Stockworth. To the words of Tirion that Lollis is just the second daughter and also stupid, the former mercenary replies that if he wanted to, he would marry Tirion and unambiguously hints that after his wedding, Falis, the older sister of Lollis, may, for example , unsuccessfully fall from the horse, what happens so often with the lady. In the series, Lollis is not as ugly as in the book, and just stupid, not weak-witted. Also, she was not raped and does not give birth to a bastard.

Fifth Season

In the fifth season, Bronn is shown in Stockworth, during a discussion of a wedding feast with Lollys (the bride discusses the holiday mainly, the mercenary not only does not participate in the conversation - he does not even listen to his incessantly pronounced one). In conversation, he admires the castle and once again hints that some "accident" awaits his sister's sister. The dialogue is interrupted by Jaime Lannister, inviting Bronn to go with him to Dorn to save Mircella and, if successful, "a more beautiful wife and a bigger castle." On the ship, the mercenary hints to Lannister that he is aware of who he belongs to Mircella and expresses sympathy for the escaped Tyrion, to which he receives a sharply negative reaction from his companion.

When trying to kidnap a princess in the Water Gardens, he hits Tristan's face, stunning the prince. During a fight with snakes, he gets a cut from Tiena Sand, and then gets into prison, captured by the palace guards under the direction of Areo Hotah. In prison, he sings obscene songs about Dornish girls, flirting with Tiena and annoying other snakes. Suddenly he becomes ill and the darling smugly informs him that on her blade was the poison “Long Farewell”, which needs time to penetrate the body. Bronn receives the antidote only by fulfilling Tien’s desire - calling her "the most beautiful girl in the world."

When Prince Doran decides to let Mircella escort Tristan to the Royal Harbor, Jaime asks Bronn to let go, and Doran reminds him that hitting the prince is a crime punishable by death. However, he allows Tristan to decide the fate of the mercenary himself - the prince must learn to rule and make fair decisions. Tristan agrees to let Bronn go on one condition - when a knight is informed of a pardon in the dining room - Areo Hotach hits him in the jaw, thus giving a “credit” for Bronn hitting Tristan. It is noteworthy that after this Doran mockingly offers the mercenary to taste the soup (before the blow, Bronn expressed a desire to eat a pie).

During Mircella's farewell to Doran and the snakes, Bronn exchanges a few words with Tiena, inviting him to visit him in the Royal Lands and advises him to hurry up, as he is about to get married soon. In response, the girl bites his ear and whispers that even if he pretends to want to marry a noble woman, she knows that he needs a “bad pussy”.

Sixth season

Bronn returned with Jaime to King's Landing. Arrived with the Regicide and the Lannister army near Riverran. Jaime and Freyev attended the conversation in front of Edmoor Tully, and after that he informed Brindan Tully about the start of negotiations. Met with Brienna and Podrik. Feasted with Jaime in the Twins, returned to King's Landing.

Seventh Season

In the 3rd series of the 7th season he took part in the capture of Jaime Highgarden. In series 4 of season 7 he took part in the battle with the army of the Dothraki led by Daenerys Targaryen. Raniel of Viserion from the Quibern Ballista. Saved Jaime from burning by Drogon. Arranged a meeting between Jaime and Tyrion. Warmly welcomed Bes during the arrival of him and John Snow in the Royal Harbor.

Season

At the beginning of the final season, Quibern passes Bronn the order of Cersei to kill her brothers [6] . Bronn agrees, but when he arrives at Winterfell, he leaves the brothers alive under the condition that he receive Highgarden. In the final episode, Bronn becomes Lord of Prostor and Master over a coin in the Small Council of King Bran Stark.
