On this double compilation album all the biggest Kiss hits of that time were collected (“ Rock and Roll All Nite ”, “ Beth ”, “ Detroit Rock City ”, “ Calling Dr. Love ”, “ Love Gun ”) [1] , as well as a number of sides of “B” and tracks previously released only on albums.
According to Stephen Thomas Erlevine from the AllMusic music site, this album, which contains not only hits, but also key album tracks and songs that enjoyed the greatest success at concerts (“ Cold Gin ”, “ Deuce ”, “ Black Diamond ” and “ She »), Collected all the most important and necessary songs to buy the group. But there is one thing: the song “ Strutter ” was presented not by the original, but by a new version recorded specifically for the album. According to the music critic, the new version was obviously recorded in 1978 only in order to force collectors and big fans of the group to buy this album. (After all, all the other recordings on the album they already had by that time.) The critic concludes that with the original version of this song the compilation would be definitive, but also how is it a “very, very good review” of the group’s work [1] .
