David Bennent ( German: David Bennent ; born September 9, 1966) is a Swiss actor. Best known for the role he played when he was 12, Oscar in Volker Schlöndorff 's Tin Drum [4] .

Biography
Born in 1966 in Swiss Lausanne. David's parents are German actor Heinz Bennent and French dancer Diana Mansard (she performed under the name Polette Renu). There is an older sister, Anna (born 1963). She is also involved in acting [5] . The first years of his life he spent on the island of Mykonos in Greece. From early childhood, he lagged behind in physical growth, so he almost did not go to school, he received school education at home under the guidance of his mother.
In addition to Switzerland, David lived in Germany and France, is fluent in German, French and English. David's acting career started in 1974.
When he was 12 years old, he starred in the film "Tin Drum." The role required of David considerable physical and moral costs. She caused a lot of controversy, because the young actor took part in sex scenes with adult partners [6] .
In 1984, he starred in the Franco-American crime film "Raid" directed by Yves Boisset . At the age of 19, Bennent was invited by Ridley Scott to the fantasy “Legend”, where his partners on the set were Tom Cruise and Mia Sarah [6] . For this role, he received a nomination at the Young Artist Awards .
David Bennett is small in stature - 155 cm. Therefore, he repeatedly played dwarfs and midgets, although he is not one [6] [7] .
