Geography
Korenovsky district is located in the geographical center of the region. The area of the territory is 1426 km². The climate of the region is moderately continental.
History
Korenovsky district was formed on June 2, 1924 as part of the Kuban district of the Southeast region . Its structure includes a part of the territory of the abolished Krasnodar department of the Kuban-Black Sea region .
Initially, the area includes 19 rural councils: Anapa, Babich- Korenovskiy , Babich, Chernigov, Beysugsky , Beysuzheksky , Berezan , Bratkovsky , Buzinovsky , Burakovsky , Vyselkovsky , Dyadkovsky , Zhuravsky , nonresident-Malevanny, Cossack-Malevanny, Lower, Novosuvorovsky, plastunovskoy , Platnirovsky , Razdolnensky .
Since November 16, 1924, the district is part of the North Caucasus Territory , since January 10, 1934 - as part of the Azov-Black Sea Territory .
On December 28, 1934, the Vyselkovsky and Plastunovsky districts were separated from the district.
On September 13, 1937, the Korenovsky district as part of the Krasnodar Territory .
When industrial and rural areas were created in the USSR, on February 11, 1963, the Korenovsky District was abolished, and its territory became part of the Ust-Labinsky District of the Krasnodar Territory.
March 3, 1964 Korenovsky district was restored to its former borders.
In 1993, the activities of the village councils were terminated, and the territories of the rural administrations were transformed into rural districts.
In 2005, administrations of rural districts were liquidated in the district and 10 municipal formations were formed: 1 urban and 9 rural settlements .

The population in 2007 was 85.7 thousand inhabitants. The population of the district as of 01.01.2006 was 85,262 people. Of these, 48.2% are urban dwellers and 51.8% are rural dwellers. Among the total population, men make up 46.3%, women 53.7%. The female population of the fertile age is 22079 people (48.2% of the total number of women). Children from 0 to 17 years old - 17248 (20.2% of the total population), adults - 68014 people (79.8%). In the total population of 50,626 (59.4%) there are persons of working age, 23.4% are pensioners [18] .
Economy
The area is predominantly agrarian. Large enterprises of the food industry: a milk canning plant (ZAO Korenovsk MKK), a sugar factory (JSC Korenovksakhar).
Transportation
The “ Krasnodar I - Korenovsk - Tikhoretskaya ” railway and the federal highway “ Don ” pass through the Korenovsky district.
Social Sector
In the area there are 23 secondary schools, a vocational school, a branch of the Kuban State University (closed in 2013).
The library network of the district includes 25 libraries. There are 28 clubs and houses of cultures, Korenovskaya and Platnirovskaya children's art schools, a national history museum, a cinema and video entertainment institution, Korenovsky Park of Culture and Leisure.
The district has three stadiums, 26 gyms and a swimming pool.
In the area there are 4 hospitals, 34 outpatient clinics and medical assistants.
Attractions
In the area there are 13 monuments of architecture. Among them, the Holy Dormition Convent [19] , Holy Trinity Church in Platnirovskaya .
