Biography
According to Fredegar [1] , Chilperic is the son of King Aquitaine Haribert II . His mother’s name is not exactly known, but in the “ Charter of Alaon ” she is called Gisela of Vaskonska. Chilperic was born in 629 or 630, somewhere in Vasconia . When his father died suddenly in 632, he was declared king of Aquitaine. However, the army of his uncle Dagobert I invaded the possessions of the young king. Chilperic was captured and killed [2] .
