Biography

Born September 15, 1922 Born in Kharkov in the family of a military man S. A. Ignatiev .

In 1940 he graduated from high school in the city of Mogilev-Podolsky , where his father served as the head of the fortified area . June 10, 1941 he entered the service of the Red Army and was sent to study at the Lviv Infantry School . In November of the same year he was sent to the front of the Great Patriotic War. From December 1941 to October 1942 he served as commander of a platoon of anti-tank rifles of the 46th separate rifle brigade (Central Front) and commander of the rifle companies of the 233rd rifle regiment and 123rd rifle brigade (Western Front). He took part in the defense of Moscow, was wounded twice. After treatment after the first wound, he was a student of short-term courses of junior lieutenants of the Western Front. Since October 1942, Ignatiev served as an adjutant to the commandant of the 153rd fortified area of ​​the Moscow defense zone (subsequently the Moscow Military District ). He participated in the hostilities of the 1st and 2nd Belorussian fronts on the territory of East Prussia, Poland and Pomerania. In April 1943 he received a serious injury - fragmentation wound of the left eye and detachment of the finger of the left hand. The war ended with the rank of captain .

In February-June 1946 he served as deputy commander of the 497th separate machine gun and artillery battalion as part of the Northern Group of Forces, then from December 1946 to December 1947 he was deputy commander of the battalion of the 366th Guards Rifle Regiment ( Belarusian Military District ). From December 1947 to October 1948 he studied at the officer courses " Shot ", after which he received the rank of major . In February 1949, V.S. Ignatiev was appointed the head of the 3rd part of the Lenin regional military enlistment office of the city of Sverdlovsk, in January 1950 he was transferred to the post of senior officer of the 2nd part of the Molotov district military enlistment office of Sverdlovsk. Since March 1955, he worked as the head of the 3rd part of the city ​​military registration and enlistment office of the city of Kamensk-Uralsky . In 1958 he was again transferred to Sverdlovsk as the head of the 3rd part of the Ordzhonikidze military commissariat.

In September 1961, Ignatiev was fired due to illness. He lived in Sverdlovsk. He died on August 22, 1998, was buried at the Shirokorechensky cemetery of the city ​​next to his father.
