Biography
From the noble family of the Rzhevskys , the son of Alexei Andreevich Rzhevskiy and Glafira Ivanovna Alymova .
In 1798 he entered the service of the College of Foreign Affairs .
In 1802 he entered the military service as a lieutenant in the Life Guards Semyonovsky regiment , in 1803 he was appointed adjutant to Major General 1st Depreradovich 1st.
In 1805 he participated in the battle of Austerlitz .
March 29, 1806 promoted to headquarters captain .
In 1807 he participated in the battle of Friedland , was wounded by a bullet in his hand and buckshot in the chest.
August 17, 1808 promoted to captain, was transferred to the Life Guards Hussar Regiment with renaming in registers .
In 1809 he retired.
Patriotic War of 1812
In 1812, he filed a petition to accept him again for service, on July 20 he was accepted with the rank of major in cavalry,

Then he joined the team of General Konovnitsyn and was in the battles: September 22 near Tarutin, October 6 - at the Chernyshka River and October 12 — near Maly-Yaroslavts (where he was wounded by a bullet in his right hand).
October 15, 1812 he was awarded the rank of lieutenant colonel for the difference in cases against the enemy.
On October 20, 1812 he was transferred to the detachment of Adjutant General Count Ozharovsky and participated in affairs with him: on the 28th near Chernov, on November 2 during the attack of the mountains. Red, where, commanding a Cossack regiment, the first jumped into the city; November 4 - in the village Kutkine, 5 - during the capture of the city of Krasny.
November 10, 1812 at the village of Yakovlevichi, a hussar was detached with a Cossack regiment and 2 squadrons and captured a cavalry detachment, consisting of 250 people, two headquarters officers and three chief officers; for which December 31, 1812 was granted the Order of St. Anne of the 2nd degree.
In 1813-1814 - a member of the Overseas campaign of the Russian army .
On August 12, 1813, he was placed at the disposal of the general by the cavalry of Count Wittgenstein and was with him on August 13-16 during the attack of the city of Dresden, for which he was awarded, on August 16, the orders: Anne of the 2nd degree with diamond jewelry and the Prussian Order of Pur le Merit .
September 3, 1813 participated in the battle near metro Golendorf, in Bohemia; 5 - under Kulm; 4 - at metro Wachau, Leberti and Wolfwitz; 6 - at the village Gulzhausen; 7 - during the capture of Leipzig, 12 - under metro Buttenstät; in 1814 in France: January 31 - at the city of Nogent-sur-Seine; February 15 - at the city of Bar-Sur-Ob, 20 — at the metro station Labressen; 21 — when taking mountains. Troyes; March 9 - during the capture of Arens; 13 at Fer-Champenoise; 17 - under Gandhi.
September 18 and 19, 1813 participated in the battle of the capture of Paris .
He was awarded for differences in cases against the enemy: for the affairs of October 4–7 - with the rank of colonel; for the battles in February 1814 - a gold saber with the inscription "For courage" and the military order of the Grand Duchy of Baden "Karl Friedrich" , and for participation in March affairs - the order of St. Vladimir 3rd degree.
After the war
In 1817 - commander of the Nizhny Novgorod Infantry Regiment .
On October 11, 1817, he was dismissed from military service, according to a petition, for illness and wounds, with the right to wear a military uniform.
For nine years he was not in the service.
In 1826, he was a chamberlain , identified in the department of the Expedition of the Kremlin Building, and on November 10, 1827 was renamed from colonel to college adviser .
From 1831 - official of special assignments at the Commission for the construction in Moscow, since 1834 - state adviser .
Since 1840 - official of special assignments in the office of the Moscow Military Governor General.
Subsequently, he was appointed a member of the Board of Trustees of public charity institutions in Moscow, a trustee of district charitable institutions of the Moscow province, and was promoted to the rank of actual state adviser .
He died in Moscow on January 30, 1852, was buried at the Vagankovsky cemetery [1] .
