Biography

The son of Eugene de Henin-Lietard , count de Boussoux, and Anna-Isabella-Carolina de Croy-Chimet d'Arenberg.

Count de Beaumont, Marquis de La Vere and Vlissingen, Baron de Lidkerke and Anderlev, Viscount de Lomback, Senior de Beauvries, Say, Burs, Ask, Foss, Blouche, Ek, Sombek, La Franchise, Eigendonck, and more.

The first in the family to take the name "Alsatian" ( d'Alsace ), as evidence of the origin of the Henin-Lietarov family from Count of Flanders Thierry of Alsace .

The commissioner of January 15, 1657 received under command a fatherly ordinance detachment of forty heavily armed horsemen and eighty shooters.

In March 1657, the troops of Juan of Austria liberated the Bussus Castle from the French, captured by Tyuren in the campaign of 1655. It housed the main apartment of the army of the staffhalter and Prince Conde , acting against Saint-Guillen , who surrendered on March 21.

During the Dutch war, the castle was occupied by the French without resistance, after the troops captured Saint-Guillen on December 10, 1677. Returned under the terms of the Nimwegen Peace , Busssu was badly destroyed, and lay in ruins until restoration in 1810.

In 1686, Philippe-Louis inherited from his childless cousin Ernest-Alexandre-Dominic d'Arenberg all the possessions of the Princes de Chimet branch of the Arenberg house: county de Beaumont, the principality of Chime and the barony of Commin and Alfven. The inheritance was carried out subject to verification. Beginning in 1635, the heads of the house of de Chimet incurred significant expenses, and debts gradually accumulated, as a result of which the bulk of the possessions was sequestered and was managed by the Hainaut Council. In fact, the new prince received only the title, and the issue of possessions was resolved with his son.

In 1687, Philippe-Louis de Henin-Lietard was bestowed by Charles II into the Knights of the Order of the Golden Fleece .
