Sanovka

The village of Sanovka is located on the Oka-Don Plain at the source of the Krutki River, 11 km south of the village of Shilovo . The distance from the village to the district center Shilovo by road is 14 km.

The village of Sanovka is located near the floodplain of the Pari River, 1 km from its left bank. To the east of the village there are several tracts (Sanovskaya Felling, Endava Forest), lakes (Sanovsky, Svyatoe) and a small river Lunetsa flows. The nearest populated area is Avdotinka village, Sasykino village and Polyaki ( Putiatinsky district ).

The village of Sanovka was founded by immigrants from the village of Sanskoye Spassky district of the Ryazan province, who named the new settlement in honor of their native village. Initially, several names were used: Sana, Sana Vyselki, Sanovka. Later the last of them was confirmed. ^[3]

The modern village of Sanovka consists of two confluent settlements - the village of Sanovka and the nearby village of Petrovka. The village of Petrovka was founded by one of the local landlords in 1810 as the settlement of peasants from the village of Letniki, Sapozhkovsky district , and received its name from the name of the owner. It was inhabited by serfs. ^[4] A approx. 1840 , according to the “Collection of statistical information on the Ryazan Province” (1890), a settlement of state peasants appeared in the south of Petrovka — the village of Sanovka, founded as a settlement from the village of Sanskoye in the Spassky district of the Ryazan province. ^[3]

The abolition of serfdom in 1861 did not lead to an equation of the position of local peasants: the inhabitants of Petrovka remained temporarily obliged for a long time and suffered from lack of land, and Sanovka was distinguished by prosperity and wealth. In 1869, a wooden Ascension church was built in Sanovka at the expense of local peasants with side chapels in the name of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker and the Presentation of the Most Holy Theotokos into the temple, and the village became a village. By 1891, according to I. V. Dobrolyubov , there were 85 households in the village of Sanovka; The parish of the rural Ascension Church also included the nearby villages of Svyatozersk (27 yards), Petrovka (69 yards), and Poles (159 yards). As a result, back in the 1970s. it was decided to merge both settlements into one - this is how the modern village of Sanovka appeared.
