Biography
Born in 1907 to a working class family.
In the ranks of the Red Army - since October 1929.
During the Great Patriotic War, D. S. Ivanov was in the army , consistently held the post of head of the political departments of the division, corps, army.
After the war, he was in the leading party and political work, held the post of deputy head of the Political Directorate of the Ural Military District . In 1957-1959 he was a member of the Military Council, head of the political department of the 4th separate air defense army [1] . After leaving the reserve, he worked as chairman of the Sverdlovsk Regional Committee of War Veterans.

He died in September 1966 in Sverdlovsk, was buried at the Shirokorechensky cemetery of the city.
He was awarded the Orders of Lenin, Red Banner (twice), Bohdan Khmelnytsky 2nd degree, Red Star (twice), as well as state and departmental medals.
