Career
He began performing on a professional level in 2013 at the age of 13 at the low-ranking tournaments of the Asian Tour of the Players Tour Championship series , reaching the 1/8 final of the stage in Zhangjiagan , after which he received a wildcard for the 2014 Chinese Open Championship , making his debut at rating tournaments. In the next season 2014/15, he reaches 1/8 of the low-ranking Open Championship of Yixing , as well as 1/16 of the rated Wuxi Classic and Shanghai Masters , and in November 2014 became the youngest World Amateur Champion, which allowed him to obtain professional status, but because of problems with obtaining a British visa, the beginning of his professional career was postponed to the 2016/17 season . In his debut season, he reached 1/4 German Masters 2017 .
In November 2017, Yan Bintao reached the finals of the Nortern Ireland Open (Northern Ireland Open Championship), where in a sharp and equal fight he lost to the two-time world champion, Welshman Mark Williams with a score of 8: 9, leading from the very beginning, up to 8: 7.
In July 2019, he won the Riga Masters tournament , in the final with a score of 5: 2 he defeated the Englishman Mark Joyce .
