Biography
In 1944 - a graduate of the military-music team of the boarding school. In 1947 he graduated from the Music School. Gnesinykh ( KM Kupinsky drum class).
In 1947-1954 he was a drummer in Moscow amateur ensembles, in restaurant orchestras, at dance floors. In 1954-1964 he played in the jazz band Eddie Rosner . Fame to Boris Matveyev came from his first public speeches. Jazz historian Alexey Batashev recalled [2] :
In the 40s and 50s, he was known and idolized as well as famous footballers and hockey players ...
In 1970-1990, he played in Moscow variety ensembles of traditional jazz, in Dixieland by Albert Melkonov, in a quartet of veterans of Soviet jazz.
He was buried in Moscow at the Kalitnikovsky cemetery [3] .
Wife - Nina Kurganova, xylo-focalist, soloist of the orchestra of the Bolshoi Theater.
