Hypsizygus tessulatus , or Buna Simeji is an edible mushroom from East Asia . It is also grown in temperate climates in Europe, North America, Australia and is sold fresh. In nature, it grows on trees.

There are two types:
- Buna-shimeji ( ja: ブ ナ シ メ ジ ) with brown fruit bodies;
- Bunapi-shimeji ( ja: ブ ナ ピ ー ) with white fruit bodies.
