Mytnaya Square (Lviv)

The name of the square is due to the fact that since 1782, customs ( Ukr. Mitnya ) were located in the premises of the Clarissinki Monastery. Sides of the area: about 60-80 m. Road surface - paving stones .

The area is an important transport hub, most of the city's tram routes pass through it, in particular No. 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, 9, 10. The western part of the square is crossed by Vinnichenko Street, Lychakivskaya Street adjoins in the northern part, and in the southeast - street of the Roman.

Building of the square: along the western part the walls of the church and the Bernardine monastery with the Glyanyansky gates extend, along the eastern part - the church of the Clarissins with the former cell building. Now in the church is the Museum of the Sacred Baroque Sculpture of Pinzel , and in the cell building - an educational institution. In the southeastern part of the square is a miniature square and the Boy fountain.

In the summer of 2016, repairs were carried out, which they promised to finish before October. ^[1] Repair was completed by the City Day, the square was officially opened on May 6, 2017. ^[2]
