The 17th Pacific Fleet Operational Squadron ( 17th OPESK ) is the operational association ( operational squadron ) of the USSR Navy ships, which was intended for combat missions at the Pacific Theater of Operations . It was created by order of the commander-in-chief of the Navy in 1982, based in the port of Kamran of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and partially in the port of Ream of the People's Republic of Kampuchea.

The special department of the State Security Committee under the Council of Ministers of the USSR for the 17th OPEC, the military prosecutor's office and the military tribunal were subordinated to the squadron commander in a garrison order.
