Andrew W. "Andy" Sidaris ( born Andrew W. "Andy" Sidaris ; February 20, 1931 , Chicago , Illinois , USA - March 7, 2007 , Beverly Hills , California , USA ) - American film and television director , film producer , actor and screenwriter . Best known for his film collection Bullets, Bombs and Babes, a series of category B films he created between 1985 and 1998 , including Malibu Express ( 1985 ) and Hawaii in the Hawaii ( 1987 ). As a director, he is a pioneer of sports TV shows . He covered hundreds of football and basketball games , Olympic competitions , as well as special programs, for which he won seven Emmy awards. The most famous sports show of Sidaris is the anthology program “ Wide World of Sports ”, which was broadcast on ABC . He was the first director of this show, and continued to work in this post for 25 years.

Biography
Born February 20, 1931 in Chicago ( Illinois , USA ) in a family of Greek immigrants. He grew up in Shreveport ( Louisiana ), where he graduated from high school.
He attended Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas , where his family took an active part in sports. Andrew's brother, Chris W. Sidaris (1927–2000), was the director of the Shreveport Parks and Recreation Department.
In 1969, won the Emmy Award for filming the 1968 Summer Olympics .
In the 1970s, he shot episodes of the TV shows Gemini Man, Kodjak , The Brothers Hardy and Nancy Drew , as well as the Monday Night Football sports broadcast on ABC , which covered the games of the National Football League .
Together with his wife Arlene T. Sidaris (born 1942) created 12 films. Since the death of her husband, she runs an official website dedicated to his films.
Died March 7, 2007 in Beverly Hills from throat cancer at age 76.
Personal life
He was twice married. In marriage with his first wife, Ann Sidaris-Reeves (1956-1966) had two children. The second wife was Arlene Sidaris.
He had a son, Christian Drew Sidaris, as well as daughters, Alex Sidaris (Garner) and Stacy Avel.
