Geographical position
The village of Sverdlovka is located on the Oksko-Don plain on the right bank of the Srednik River, 32 km northeast of the town of Shilovo . The distance from the village to the regional center of Shilovo by road is 41 km.
To the north of the village of Sverdlovka is a large forest, dissected by ravines descending to the Srednik River. To the north of the village are the ravines of Kosoy and Kiryulya. To the south-west of the village on the left bank of the Srednik river is the tract Yasnaya Polyana, to the east is the tract Chubarov Les. The nearest settlements are the villages of Sergievka 2 and Orekhovka , the village of Adelino .

Name Origin
The village of Sverdlovka got its name in honor of the Bolshevik revolutionary, Russian statesman and politician, chairman of the All-Russian Central Executive Committee of the RSFSR Yakov Mikhailovich Sverdlov (1885 + 1919).
History
The village of Sverdlovka was formed in the 1920s. as a result of the resettlement of part of the peasants from the village of Melekhovo, Chuchkovsky District. A collective farm named after Ya.M. was created in the village Sverdlov. [2]
