Maktren-Nafta is the first Russian terminal for the transshipment of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG-terminal), built in the port of Temryuk (it has a connection with the Black Sea through the Kerch Strait).
It carries out transshipment of liquefied gas from wagons and tank containers to specialized gas carriers.
Built in 2008, designed for transshipment of 400 thousand tons of LPG per year.
Prior to its construction, Russian marine LPG exports (500 thous. Tvg) were shipped through the ports of Ukraine - Odessa, Ilyichevsk and Kerch, a small volume - through Riga.
Technical equipment: two railway overhead racks for one-time discharge of 20 tanks, reservoir tank fleet (6 thousand tons), berth - 140 meters Loading speed - up to 400 tons per hour - five times higher than the capacity of the terminal in Odessa. Railway delivery to the terminal in Temryuk costs Russian exporters almost half the price than in the direction of Odessa. However, the deep-water port of Odessa has a much greater carrying capacity. Temryuk loses to Odessa in terms of freight cost, since it can service deadweight up to 4 thousand tons.

History
Construction of the Terminal started in 2003. The project was developed by the Ukrainian Ukrgazproekt, which has experience in constructing such facilities, and the Russian institute NIPIgasdobycha.
Construction required significant work to strengthen the marshy coast at the entrance to the port, the construction of 2.2 km of railway tracks and a diesel power station with 9 km of power lines.
The first stage commissioning works were completed in early 2007. An experimental batch of LPG was shipped to Bulgaria as early as March 2007.
The second phase was completed in May 2011, while dredging was carried out in the terminal water area in the port of Temryuk.
In total, 2.5 billion rubles were invested in the construction. [one]
The first batch of LPG was shipped in 2008.
Due to the competition of Odessa, it was actually idle for more than a year due to the lack of cargo - it handled only 16 thousand tons of LPG supplied by Gazprom Export by the Austrian company Sitko (Citco Waren-Handels Gmbh)
In 2016, the transshipment volume amounted to more than 140 thousand tons.
The initial construction was carried out by the Safinat Group of Companies. In 2013, the Terminal was bought by Kazakhstani businessmen.
