History

  • The station opened on October 15, 1998 as part of the first launch site of line 14 ( Madeleine - Bibliotek-Francois-Mitterrand). Until June 26, 2007, when the line was extended to the Olympiad station, the station was the terminal on the line.
  • According to the RATP , the passenger flow at the station at the entrance in 2013 amounted to 15472531 people (7th place in terms of the incoming passenger flow in the Paris metro) [2] , decreasing by 2011 (15.83 million people according to the RATP) [3] , when in 2004, according to STIF estimates, about 13.35 million passengers entered the station [4] .

Design and Design

Escalator at the exit from the station

The station was built according to a special project (three-span shallow column station), specially modified for line 14. Like all other stations of the line, it is equipped with escalators for lifting from platforms, as well as glass walls with platform doors that prevent passengers from getting in the way and the automatic train traffic; the walls are connected by steel rings that adorn the paths.

The design of the station was implemented by architect Anthony Grumbache, who completed the transition between the metro and RER stations, and also made 180 medallions with quotes from figures of French culture. The station has platform sliding doors .

Track Development

To the west of the station is the crossroads congress used in 1998-2007. Also, part of the current haul to the Olympiad station was used as an atelier for trains moved west with the opening of the Olympiad metro station.

Perspectives

It is planned to extend line 10 from the Gard d'Osterlitz station in the direction of Ivry - Place Gambetta. When the line is extended, a new metro interchange hub will appear. [five]
