Charsznica ( Polish. Charsznica ) is a rural commune (parish) in Poland , included as an administrative unit in Miechów County , Lesser Poland Voivodeship . The population is 7795 people (as of 2004 ). The administrative center of the commune is the village of Miechów-Harsnica .

Title
The name of the commune was received in 1973 from the name of the village “Mekhuv-Harshnitsa”, which in 1973 was renamed “Harshnitsa”. The modern village of Kharshnitsa in 1973 was called as “Kharshnitsa-Ves”. In June 2004, the commune’s administrative center was returned to its former name “Miechów-Harsnica”, and the village “Harsnitsa-Ves” was renamed the village “Harsnitsa”. However, the name of the commune of Harschnitz was not changed.
