Shout (Persian شوط) is a city in the north-west of Iran , located in the north of West Azerbaijan . The city is the center of Shout Shahrestan and is located 4 km south of the Zenbarchay River. The cities of Maku and Poland are located to the north of Shout, Chaypara to the southeast, and Chaldyran to the west [1] .

Name Origin
The name “shoot” comes from the Armenian “Ashot” - the name of one of the Armenian heroes. In ancient times, a large number of Armenians lived in this region [1] .
Language
Shout's population speaks mainly Azerbaijani, but also Kurdish ( Kurmanji ) [2] .
Attractions
One of the most important natural attractions of the city are considered hot mineral springs. They are located on the top of the hill - hot water flows from its two sides, and cold water from the middle, from the inside of the hill. Many historical monuments of the city were destroyed, only the historical mound “Khalilshahr”, belonging to the period of the kingdom of Urartu, and also, in the village of Khuk, the historical hotel building, made in the style of the late Kajars and early Pahlavi [3] , remained.

According to the data of three censuses (1996, 2006 and 2011), the population of the town of Shout grew as follows: 17482 people, 19787 people and 21047 people. The population growth chart for this city is a line that runs obliquely from bottom to top, without any significant bends, which indicates a constant population growth rate. Shout's share in the population of the same named shakhrestan in 2011 was 40.0% [4] .
