Clan Kennedy: After Camelot

The second part of the biographical saga covers more than 30 years of American history - from the assassination of Robert Kennedy in 1968 to the tragic plane crash in 1999 with the participation of John F. Kennedy Jr. An important role in the story this time is played by Edward Kennedy ( Matthew Perry ), who, after the death of his older brothers, had to take on the role of the new leader of an influential American clan. However, already in 1969, the senator was almost put an end to his political career when he was involved in a mysterious car accident that claimed the life of his assistant Mary Joe Kopechne. Also in the center of events is Jacqueline Kennedy ( Katie Holmes ), who was able to recover from the death of John Kennedy and find a new love in the person of the Greek billionaire Aristotle Onassis ( Alexander Siddig ), but soon her life made her convinced that the talk about the curse of the Kennedy clan have quite real ground.

The plot of the mini-series includes events such as the murder of Robert Kennedy in June 1968, the wedding of Jacqueline Kennedy and Aristotle Onassis, the presidential election of 1968 , a car accident in Chappakwidick with the participation of Edward Kennedy (July 1969), the death of Joseph Patrick Kennedy- senior in November 1969, cancer treatment for Ted Kennedy Jr. (son of Edward Kennedy) in 1973 , the death of Aristotle Onassis in March 1975 , the participation of Edward Kennedy in the 1980 presidential election , a speech by John F. Kennedy Jr. at the Democratic congress party in 1988 , the death of Jacqueline Kennedy in May 1994 , the death of Rosa Kennedy in January 1995 , the wedding of John F. Kennedy Jr. in September 1996 and his death in an airplane crash (July 1999).

Episode 3 ("New Beginnings. Part 1" ( Eng. New Beginnings ); directors - John Cassar & Katie Holmes , script - Sandra Hwialkowska & Stephen Kronish) : Senator Edward Kennedy reaches agreement with the parents of the deceased girl and attends her funeral. Soon, as his wife predicted, retribution awaits him, but after her enlightenment: Edward understands what he needs to do in order to use his position to make the life of his fellow citizens better. Meanwhile, Jacqueline's second marriage is bursting at the seams: first, because of her, Aristotle Onassis quarrels with her daughter, and then - as it seems to him, also through the fault of Jacqueline - his only son is killed.

Episode 4 ("New Beginnings. Part 2" ( Eng. New Beginnings ); directors - John Kassar & Katie Holmes , script - Sandra Hvialkowska & Stephen Kronisch) : Edward finally decides to run for president, but the world convinces him that, despite to a common surname, he is a completely different person than his two older brothers. Jacqueline again and again finds a new goal in life. Now the main thing for her is the rapidly growing handsome son John, who at first reluctantly, but then readily takes on the family burden and is ready to do everything possible not to discredit the glorious name of Kennedy and, perhaps, someday again to stand at the helm of a great country .
