Bokan ( Persian شهرستان بوکان ) is one of the shahrestanov of the Iranian province of Western Azerbaijan . The administrative center is the city of Bokan . Administratively subdivided into districts ( Bakhshi ):

According to the 2006 census, the population of shakhrestan was 202 637 people (101 430 men and 101 207 women). The territory was inhabited by 42,313 families. The literacy rate of the population was 68.55% [1] .
