Pristina Transport

Pristina street

Pristina is a major hub for automobile, rail and air networks in Kosovo. Buses, trains and planes serve to maintain a high level of transport links between Pristina and other settlements in the region and beyond. According to the transport police, out of 240,000 cars registered in the Republic of Kosovo , about 100,000 cars or 41% of them are in Pristina [1] .

Roads

The roads in Pristina were in very poor condition after the Kosovo war, and public investment was needed to remedy the situation. Now the infrastructure in Pristina is in good condition. All roads connecting large villages with the city center are asphalted [2] . Roads connecting Pristina with other cities are the backbone of the Kosovo transport network. The M2 road starts from the north with Central Serbia , passes through Pristina and reaches the southern border with the Republic of Macedonia . The southern end of this road connects Pristina with the European Corridor X. The M25 road runs from the city from Nis through the administrative border with Central Serbia, the cities of Pristina, Prizren and ends at the border with Albania. The M9 road runs from the eastern administrative border with Central Serbia through Pristina and Pecs to the border with Montenegro [3] . The ring route around the city of Pristina and the Hermia Forest Park will have to improve the transport links of the villages of Marble, Lucare and the eastern part of the city [4] .

Slatina International Airport

Pristina is served by one Slatina airport and is located approximately 15 km southwest of the city [6] . Thanks to the modern terminal, its passenger flow exceeds one million people per year, and it is considered the busiest airport in the region. In 2012, it served more than 1.5 million passengers, and in 2013 the number of passengers increased by more than 100,000. There were 28 airlines operating at the airport in 33 destinations in 16 countries, including most European centers [7] .

Buses

The Pristina bus station serves all of Kosovo and a number of international destinations. The main bus station is located 2 km southwest of the city in the area of ​​Bill Clinton Boulevard.

Of the city buses of the administration of Pristina, only bus lines 4 and 3A belong. Other lines are served by private operators [8] .

Taxi

There are several taxi operators in Pristina with more or less the same conditions. The first kilometer costs 1.5 euros, then the cost increases by 0.6 euros per km. As a rule, during peak hours, a trip from one end of Pristina to the other does not exceed 10 euros [9] .

Rail Transport

In the industrial zone west of the central part of Pristina, there is a railway station of the same name [10] . Trains run daily to Skopje from it [11] .
