Since May 1, 2015, in accordance with the law of the Orenburg region "On the transformation of municipalities located in the Yasnensky district of the Orenburg region" dated March 6, 2015 No. 3027/832-V-OZ, the city of Yasny is part of the municipal formation of the Yasnensky city district of the Orenburg region .

Geography

The city is located in the South Trans-Urals , 28 km from the Exploration railway station, 3 km from the Gorny Lyon railway station. 24 km from Yasnoy there is a border with Kazakhstan .

The area of ​​the municipality of Yasnensky district is 356910 ha. The municipality is located in the southeast of the Orenburg region. The length of the borders of the territory is 340 km. In the north, the municipality borders with the Adamovsky district, in the south and south-west with the Dombarovsky district, and for 10 km from the south lies the border with the Aktobe region of Kazakhstan. In the east, the border shares the municipality with the Svetlinsky district, and in the north-west - with the Novor district of the Orenburg region.

In the Yasnensky district there is the Yasny military training ground (now used as a launch site for launching the spacecraft under the Dnepr program), as well as the settlement (ZATO) Komarovsky and the Yasny military airfield .

In Yasny, the continental climate prevails. During the year, a significant amount of rainfall occurs, even in the driest month. The temperature is on average 2.1 ° C. The average annual rainfall is 302 mm. The least precipitation is in February, with an average of 15 mm. Most precipitation falls in July, with an average of 39 mm. July is the hottest month, the average temperature is 20.8 ° C. The lowest average temperature in January is -17.9 ° C.

History

It was founded in 1961 in connection with the discovery of the Kiyembaevsky asbestos deposit and the construction of the Orenburgasbest mining and processing plant. The meaning of the name is not only "bright, shining, bright," but, in a figurative sense, - "unclouded, calm, clean." [2] In 1962, it became an urban-type settlement ; and in 1979 he was given the status of a city .

At the end of 1973, after the CMEA member countries signed the agreement, the USSR Ministry of Construction of Heavy Industry Enterprises formed a large trust “Kiembayasbeststroy” in Yasnoy. During the first half of 1974, the trust was mainly equipped with the necessary mechanisms, equipment, and transport. Over this period, over 2,000 workers arrived, and in August the All-Union Komsomol strike detachment Chkalovets joined them.
