History
The building was built in the late XIX – early XX centuries on Petrovskaya Street (now Igor Serdyuk Street ). At that time, the city nobility settled on the street: merchants, representatives of the City Duma , officials. Police officer Kazachek, who held an important post, also settled on this street, having built a mansion in the Art Nouveau style [1] .
In the 1930s, the building housed the NKVD department [1] (according to other sources, the department was located in the former home of confectioner Silaev , located on the same street [2] ).
During the Second World War, the building of the street was almost completely destroyed, but the former police chief's house survived. It houses a clinic for war veterans. Nowadays, the city health department is located in the building. The building is included in the list of monuments of the city .
