Biography
Lillian Kemble-Cooper was born March 21, 1892 in London ( England , UK ) in the family of theatrical actor Frank Kemble-Cooper, a representative of the theatrical acting dynasty Kemble who have been leading actors in British theater for six decades. Her two sisters and brother, Violet Kemble-Cooper (12.12.1886-17.08.1961), Greta Kemble-Cooper and Anthony Kemble-Cooper (02/06/1904 - 01/09/2000) were also actors [1] .
In 1906-1950, she appeared in 17 productions on Broadway. In 1916-1964, she played in 29 films and television series. In the movie, she is best known for her short appearance as a nanny for Bonnie Blue Butler in London in Gone With the Wind , becoming the only non-American character in the film.
The first two marriages of Lillian, the first with actor Charles Mackay (1867-1935) and the second with WWI pilot Louis Bernheimer, ended in divorce. On October 26, 1936, Kemble-Cooper married a third time to actor Guy Bates Post (1875-1968) and was married to him almost 32 years before his death [2] .
85-year-old Lillian died on May 4, 1977 in Los Angeles (California, USA).
