Club career
Alvarado is a pupil of the Celaya Club. On September 25, in the Mexico Cup duel against the Estudiantes Tecos , Roberto made his debut for the main team at the age of 15 years and 21 days [2] . On September 29, in his match against Estudiantes Tecos, he made his debut in the Assenso League [3] . On February 19, 2014, in the Mexico Cup match against Atlas , Alvarado scored his first goal for Celaya [4] . In 2014, the English “ Manchester United ” and “ Sandreland ” [5] showed interest in the player, and in 2015, Leicester City .
In early 2017, Roberto moved to Pachuca . On January 15, in a match against Chiapas , he made his debut in the Mexican Example [6] . In a duel against Tijuana , Alvarado scored his first goal for Pachuca. In his debut season, he helped the club win the CONCACAF Champions League .
In the summer of that year, Alvarado joined the Necaxa . On August 27, in a match against Altas, he made his debut for a new club [7] . In the same match, Roberto scored his first goal for the Necax. In the summer of 2018, Alvarado moved to Cruz Asul . On July 22, in a match against Puebla , he made his debut for a new team [8] . International Career
On September 8, 2018, in a friendly match against the Uruguayan national team, Alvarado made his debut for the Mexican national team , replacing Alan Pulido in the second half [10] .
In the summer of 2019, he was called up to the national team to participate in the CONCACAF Gold Cup . In the second match in the group round against the national team of Canada, he scored a goal in the 40th minute and, together with the team, won 3-1.

Alvarado has the nickname "Flea", in honor of his beloved footballer - Argentine Claudio Lopez .
