Geographical position
The village of Simakino is located on the Oksko-Don plain on the left bank of the Muscle River, 40 km northeast of the town of Shilovo . The distance from the village to the regional center of Shilovo is 51 km by road.
From the north, south and east, the village is surrounded by significant forests. To the north of Simakino is the tract Losina, to the north-east - the tract Simakinsky quarry. The nearest settlements are the villages of Borki and Muscle .

According to the 2010 census, 33 people are constantly living in the village of Simakino. (in 1992 - 61 people [4] ).
History
For the first time, the village of Simakino was mentioned in the Excerpt from the scribe books of Vasily Volynsky and Semyon Stupishin for 1578-1579. in determining the estate of Nozdrun Neronov. In salary books on Kasimov for 1676 it is said that in the village of Simakino
" Landowners 3 yards, peasant 4 yards, yes 5 yards of Bobyl ." [five]
By 1891, according to I.V. Dobrolyubov , the village of Simakino belonged to the parish of the Spassky church in the village of Borki . [five]
