Basque Country Tour 2017 - 57th multi-day road cycling race on the roads of Spain , the 14th calendar start of the 2017 UCI World Tour . The race started on April 3 in Pamplona and finished with an Individual butchery on April 8 in Eibar . The race consisted of six stages, the total length of the cycle race was 828.8 km. The winner of the 2016 Basque Country Tour, Alberto Contador , who replaced the Trek-Segafredo team this season, took part in the race. But the winner was another equally great racer from the Movistar Team Alejandro Valverde , ahead of Contador in the general classification by 17 seconds. The third finished, also a Spaniard and last year's representative of the Movistar Team , now protecting the colors of the Bahraya Bahrain – Merida Ion Isagirre .
