Biography
He was born on February 28, 1910 in the village of Malchev Region, the Don Army (now the Millerovsky District of the Rostov Region ), where he graduated from a seven-year school. With 11 years he worked [1] .
In 1928-1931 he studied at the metallurgical department of the Taganrog Industrial College . He graduated from the last course at the Dnepropetrovsk Metallurgical Institute in 1932, where he received the specialty of a “domain engineer” [1] .
After graduation, he was sent to the Metallurgical Combine named after A. K. Serov , where at first he worked as an assistant foreman, foreman, shift supervisor for the blast furnace shop in 1932-1934 [1] .
In 1934-1936 he served in the Red Army in the Far East . After demobilization, he returned to the factory, where in 1936-1938 he worked as the shift supervisor of the blast furnace shop, in 1938-1941 he was the assistant to the chief of the charge shop, in 1941-1945 he was the deputy head of the blast furnace shop, in 1945-1973 he was the head of the blast furnace shop . KIPO (utilization factor) of the blast furnace was the best in the USSR in 1949 (equal to 0.56). Nineteen times, the plant’s domain workers were winners in the All-Union Socialist Competition, and the blast furnace shop itself was recognized as the best in the country. In 1973-1975 he became a research engineer in the domain group of the central factory laboratory. In 1975 he retired, and since 1984 - a personal pensioner of national importance [1] .
Vasily Mikhailovich was a member of the CPSU , City Council deputy, lecturer, speaker, delegate to the 9th Congress of Trade Unions of the Metallurgical Industry, delegate to the 14th Congress of Trade Unions of the USSR [1] .
Vasily Mikhailovich died on March 10, 1988 [1] .
Memory
In 2013, at the Serov Metallurgical Plant , the Board was opened to the heroes of Socialist Labor, including with the name of V. M. Morozov [2] .
Contribution
Vasily Mikhailovich developed and mastered a new method for blast furnace smelting: used alkali-containing carbonate manganese ores of the Polunochny deposit, developed and implemented the transfer of the blast furnace to a mode of operation with increasing gas pressure at the top; changed the blast furnace loading system, increasing the efficiency of charcoal smelting with natural gas injection; changed the mode of operation of air heaters; developed a nozzle of a new design for supplying natural gas to a blast furnace; changed the profile of the blast furnace and more [3] .
