History
The village of Demyas was formed in 1868 on the banks of the river Chernenkaya . The name was received from the name of the landowner-founder Demyan. According to another version, the name of the village came from not far to the southeast of the flowing river. [1] Later, after the construction of the Ryazan-Ural Railway was completed , the village began to be pulled towards it. In 1915 the railway station Demyas was founded. [2]
The collective farm named after Maxim Gorky was founded in 1929 by combining the farms of the villages of Timonino and Svobodnoye. In 1931, the collective farm "14th October Revolution" was formed, which included the villages of Slavino, Raduevka, Kovrigin and Gerbovka. Only in 1959 all farms, including the village of Demyas, were merged into one collective farm. The name "named after Maxim Gorky" remained after the unification.
On January 12, 1981, a large livestock complex was built, according to the fattening of bulls, numbering up to 10 thousand heads - the partnership (state farm) "Demyassky". [3]
