Mamonov, Mitrofan Mamonovich

Born in 1913 in the village of Razdornoye, Biryuchensky Uyezd ^[1] in a peasant family, lost his parents early, worked for a hired fist. After graduating from school of peasant youth, he worked at one of the Donbass mines.

With the beginning of collectivization , a Komsomol trip was sent to his native land. He participated in the organization of collective farms in the Budenkovsky district of the Voronezh region, taught rural youth to read and write, in 1931-1932 he was the secretary of the Komsomol organization of the village of Verkhososna. Then he worked as deputy and chairman of the village council, chairman of the district planning commission and people's judge of the Budennovsky district.

Member of the CPSU (b) since 1937. Since 1939 - in the Red Army. Member of the Soviet-Finnish War .

During the Great Patriotic War

At the beginning of the war in the 568th Infantry Regiment of the 149th Infantry Division . July 28, 1941 seriously injured. After the hospital, he was sent to tank troops, but when he got acquainted with the American tank, he drove him into a ditch, after which he was sent to the headquarters post.

In 1942 - Chief of Staff of the rifle and machine gun battalion of the 193rd Tank Brigade (Don Front). In August 1942, Mamonov, with two fighters, made his way to the enemy’s location with grenades and destroyed two guns and disabled their calculations. September 5, 1942 it was risky, but thoughtfully placing the mortar company in front of the infantry positions, it ensured victory in battle.

In 1943 - in 201 tank brigade (Voronezh Front). He participated in the Ostrogozh-Rossoshansk operation , so on January 19, 1943, in the battles for the city of Valuyki, a unit led by M.M. Mamonov destroyed up to 100 and captured 90 Nazis.

While in battle formation of the army of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 he received three serious injuries

Participant of the Victory Parade on Red Square in Moscow in 1945 as part of a combined motorized regiment. After he participated in the war with Japan on the Transbaikal Front. He finished the war as commander of a motorized rifle battalion. Demobilized for health reasons in the rank of major at the end of 1945.

After the war

Since February 1946 he was at party work. For three years he was secretary of the Budyonnovsky district committee of the CPSU (b). In 1951 he graduated from the Voronezh Regional Two-Year School School.

In 1951-1957 - the first secretary of the Vorobevsky district committee of the CPSU. From 1957 to 1983 - the first secretary of the Ostrogozhsky district committee of the CPSU of the Voronezh region. Over the twenty-six years of his work at the head of the Ostrogozhsky district, the yield of grain crops has been increased two and a half times, the cultivation of sugar beets has changed radically, the production and harvesting of meat and milk has increased almost three times, and wool has increased tenfold.

Mamonov M.M. delegate of the XXIII-th (1966), XXIV-th (1971), XXV-th (1976) congresses of the CPSU.

In 1983, at the age of 70, he retired. He refused the offer to move to Voronezh, stayed to live in the city of Ostrogozhsk. On a voluntary basis, he headed the district Council of Veterans of War and Labor. Died July 26, 1996.

By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated April 8, 1971 " for outstanding achievements in the development of agricultural production and the implementation of the five-year plan for the sale of agricultural and livestock products to the state " M.M. Mamonov was awarded the title Hero of Socialist Labor with the awarding of the Order of Lenin. He was previously awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor, the Order of the October Revolution, and the medal "For Valiant Labor. To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of V.I. Lenin"

Military awards: two orders of the Patriotic War of the 1st degree (1943, 1985), the Order of the Red Star (12/04/1942), the medal "For Courage" (01/03/43), the medal "For Victory over Germany", "For Victory over Japan".

August 5, 2013 - the day when M.M. Mamonov would have turned 100 years old, in the city of Ostrogozhsk, on the house on Kramskoy Street, in which he lived for many years, a memorial plaque was installed.

In 1979, in the Ostrogozhsky district, the film " Secret Voting " was shot. For filming a key scene - a meeting of the board of the collective farm, M.M. Mamonov offered his office. The director persuaded Mitrofan Mamonovich to star as himself - the secretary of the district committee. Voiced the role of Igor Efimov .
