Biography
Brigitte Tronier was born into a family of chocolatiers and the owner of a chain of pastry shops [1] [2] Jean Tronier (1909-1994) and his wife Simone (nee Puyol, 1910-1998). Brigitte was the youngest of their six children, the age difference between her and her older brother is 20 years [3] [4] . The Tronje family — the wealthy bourgeois — settled in Amiens in 1872, and was involved in the production of chocolate and several local pastry specialties, including the Amiens variety of pasta cookies [5] .
June 22, 1974 she married the future banker Andre Louis Ozier, the spouses have three children: Sebastian (born 1975), Laurence (born 1977) and Tifeng (born 1984). Son Sebastian became an engineer [6] , daughter: Laurence - a cardiologist, and Tifeng - a lawyer [7] . They divorced in 2006. Brigitte currently has seven grandchildren.
Having received a CAPES certificate in the humanities , Brigitte taught in Paris , then in Strasbourg , at the Protestant school Lucie-Berger [3] [8] . In 1991, she returned to her hometown and began working as a teacher of French and Latin at the Jesuit Lyceum La Providence [2] . Here, in May 1993, she met Emmanuel Macron, a peer and classmate of her daughter Laurence. Emmanuel attended her literature classes, Brigitte also led a theater class in which he studied. Their romance began the following year, 1994 [9] . Fearing a scandal, Emmanuel's parents insisted that he leave for Paris, and he studied for the last year at the Lyceum of Henry IV . However, relations with Brigitte Tronier did not end.
She divorced her husband on January 26, 2006 and married Macron on October 20, 2007 [4] . For the first time as the wife of the current politician, Brigitte appeared publicly on June 2, 2015, taking part in an official dinner with the King of Spain Philip and his wife [7] .
Brigitte Macron played an active role in her husband’s election campaign, quoted a top adviser that “her presence is important to him.” She is also rumored to be "one of the few people he trusts." Macron said that if he wins the election, his wife "will play the role that she always had with me, she will not be hidden." The future president during his election campaign was supported by all the children of Brigitte [6] . May 15, 2017 Brigitte Macron became the first lady of France .
President Macron made statements about the need to develop the official status of the first lady of France with certain functions in the presidential system, but by August 2017, an online petition against this step had collected more than 200 thousand signatures [10] .
On August 21, 2017, the “Charter of Transparency” for the status of the wife of the head of state was published on the website of Emmanuel Macron: Brigitte Macron received an unpaid representative position [11] .
Brigitte Macron often dressed with fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld , who claimed that she had “the most beautiful legs of Paris” and compared the first lady of France with the movie star Brigitte Bardot .
