Prince Dmitry Konstantinovich Muruzi ( rum. Dumitru C. Moruzi ; 1850 , Iasi - 1914 , Iasi) - Russian, Moldavian and Romanian writer , composer , public servant.

Biography
Born June 1 or 2, 1850 in the capital of the Principality of Moldavia, Iasi . Came from a noble fanariot family of Muruzi . In 1863-1869 he went to study in France [1] . Since 1873, in the civil service in Soroksky district [1] . In 1877 he became a translator of the diplomatic service of the Russian Empire . In this capacity, he accompanied Russian troops in Rumelia during the Russian-Turkish war of 1877-1878 [1] [2] . Then he was sent to diplomatic work in the Romanian capital Bucharest .
Under the influence of Romanian nationalism, he abandoned his diplomatic career and accepted Romanian citizenship in 1882 or 1883 [3] . He became the administrator of Constant . In 1887, he was appointed administrator and deputy prefect at the port of Sulin in the Danube Delta . In the late 1890s, Muruzi left public service and began to try himself as a composer. He wrote the opera in three acts Pescarii din Sulina (“Sulina Fishermen”), which was staged at the National Theater of Bucharest in February 1902 [1] . He also took up journalism and writing. In 1910 he joined the Democratic Nationalist Party of Romania [4] .
The main works of Muruzi were the novels Înstrăinații. Studiu social în formă de roman ”(1910) and“ Pribegi în țară răpită. Roman social basarabean "(1912). He wrote works in other genres: in 1911 he published a comedy in three acts [1] and at about the same time - the satirical novel “ Pe viscol ”.
He died in poverty in Iasi on October 9, 1914, but was buried with honors at the Eternitate Cemetery [1] [5] .
