Vatazhnoe is a village in the Krasnoyarsk region of the Astrakhan region of Russia . It is the administrative center of the Vatazhensky village council .

Content
History
The village of Vatazhny was founded by the Cossacks of the Astrakhan army , the inhabitants of the village of Krasnoyarskaya and administratively was part of this village. In 1910, there were 62 yards in Vatazhnoye and 373 people lived. Between 1907 and 1917, the village was called Nikolaev in honor of Emperor Nicholas II [2] .
Geography
The village is located in the southeastern part of the Astrakhan region, in the Volga river delta , on the left bank of the Karaulnaya canal, near its confluence with the Krivaya Buzan canal, at a distance of about 1 kilometer (in a straight line) northeast of the village of Krasny Yar , the administrative center district. The absolute height is 23 meters below sea level [3] . The climate is temperate, sharply continental. It is characterized by high temperatures in summer and low - in winter, low rainfall, as well as large annual and summer daily air temperature amplitudes.

According to the All-Russian Census , in 2010 the population of the village was 1242 people (577 men and 665 women) [1] . According to the 2002 census , Kazakhs accounted for 73% of the national population structure [5] .
Infrastructure
In the village there are a secondary school, a kindergarten, a post office of Russia , a department for temporary and permanent residence of the elderly and disabled, a feldsher-midwife center , a cultural center, a library and 6 shops [6] .
In the village there is an Orthodox church in the name of St. Panteleimon (Komarova St., 27), as well as a mosque (Krasnoyarskaya St., 12) [6] .
Transport
External transport links are carried out by the E40 highway "Astrakhan - the border with Kazakhstan" and water transport [7] .
