History

  • The station opened on February 28, 1985 as part of the launch site of Le Kremlin, Bicetre , Villejuif, Louis Aragon, line 7. The station received the second half of its name in honor of the French sports official of the 1930s, Leon Lagrange , who died in 1940 during the Nazi occupation of France troops. The sports theme used in the design of the station's travel walls is associated with the name of Lagrange.
  • According to RATP , the passenger traffic at the station at the entrance in 2011 amounted to 2,392,154 people [2] . In 2012, this figure increased to 2491715 people [3] , and in 2013 the station included 2558494 passengers (214 places in terms of passenger traffic in Paris metro) [4]
