Content

History

On July 3, 1848, Pope Pius IX issued the bull Universalis Ecclesiae cura , which established the Kherson, later Tiraspol diocese , which entered the Mogilev Metropolis . In 1853, due to the Crimean War, the department of the Tiraspol diocese was moved to Saratov. In 1993, the Tiraspol diocese was transformed into the apostolic administration of Moldova (today the Diocese of Chisinau ) and on November 23, 1999 into the Apostolic Administration of the South of European Russia .

On February 11, 2002, the apostolic administration of the South of European Russia was transformed into the Diocese of St. Clement in Saratov .
