Minaia Penzhalieva (born November 19, 1974, the city of Makhachkala , Dagestan Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic) is a Dagestan pop singer, People's Artist of the Republic of Dagestan (2017).

Biography

Minaia Penzhalieva was born on November 19, 1974 in the city of Makhachkala in the family of Penzhaliev Heyzali and Hasanova Umukursum. From childhood, she studied music and literature, studied at a music school and, under the guidance of her mother, recited verses from Russian and Dagestan classics. Studying in high school, she won the Republican Grand Prix among the best readers of youth. Also in 1991 she won the Grand Prix at the vocal competition of Makhachkala-91. Her parents always supported her in the desire to become an artist. Minai has the sisters of Penzhaliyev Suray, Kitchiev Gulmira and brother Penzhaliyev Iidali.

Learning

Penzhalieva Minaya studied at the 8th school in Makhachkala. Then she graduated from the music school named after G. Hasanov in 1994. In the same year she moved to Moscow where she began to take pop-jazz vocals and take acting classes at preparatory courses at VGIK (Institute of Cinematography), she also studied English with an American teacher. In 1998, she entered the pop-jazz school named after Gnesins (Moscow city) to the department of jazz vocals. In 2002, she entered the Institute of Contemporary Art at the Institute of Contemporary Art (Moscow), where she continued to study vocal techniques. In 2014, she entered the directing department of the Theater Institute of ITI (Moscow).

Musical activity

After graduation, she received an invitation to become a soloist in the pop-jazz orchestra in the Dagestan Philharmonic . With her arrival, the English language and jazz standards sounded in the orchestra. Minaia performs with solo programs accompanied by a symphony orchestra, and also takes part in republican events of the republic. In 2009 she was awarded the title "Honored Artist of the Republic of Dagestan." In 2015, she received the Sergey Agababov Prize in the field of jazz art. In 2016, as a part of the team, she won the Grand Prix in the competition-festival “With Song to Victory”. In 2017, the title “People's Artist of the Republic of Dagestan” was awarded.

Teaching

Penzhalieva Minaya works in the Dagestan State Philharmonic named after Tatam Muradov. He also teaches vocals at the Children's Art School No. 2 of Makhachkala [1] .

Pedigree

The ancestors of Penzhalieva Minai (both by father and mother) fled to the Russian Empire in the 1910s. They (that is, Iranian Azerbaijanis) were persecuted for participating in the anti-Shah campaign.

Great-grandfather on his father, Ali Penji-oglu with his family, sailed to Makhachkala by ferry from Iran. Grandfather and father Minai were born in Makhachkala.

Maternal grandfather - Hasanov Alikper Ali-zade fled from Tabriz (Iran). He was an aristocrat and owned confectionery factories. Initially, he settled in Vladikavkaz, where he bought a house, which now houses the North Ossetian Interior Ministry. Later, having married the kumychka Abdulaeva Javriyat Arsanalievna from the village of Aksay, he moved to Khasavyurt . Alikpera Ali-zade was exiled, in 1939 to Kazakhstan (the city of Kustanai) by denunciation (anonymous letter). Many envied his well-being, all his acquired property was confiscated from him and ordered to leave Dagestan at 24. In Kustanai, he started from scratch, worked hard and every Thursday (a Shia holy day) carried and helped produce to poor families. Mama Minai was born in Kustanai . After 22 years, they returned to Khasavyurt at the insistence of grandmother Minai, who missed Dagestan and where she had relatives. The brothers of Javriat went to the front during the Great Patriotic War, did not return, went missing.
