Biography

Arno Montebur is the son of Michel Montebur, a tax agent from Autun, and Leila Ould Cadi, a native of Oran in French Algeria , a Spanish teacher. In Algeria, there were relatives of Montebourg by his mother - in 2016, he visited cousins ​​Zora and Farida and their mother Rohu in Oran; grandfather - Barudi Ould Kadi - died in 1992 [1] .

Montebur spent his childhood in Fixen (department of Côte d'Or ), studied law at the University of Dijon [2] .

In 1990 he became a lawyer at the Paris Court of Appeal.

In 1997 he began his political career - he was elected from the Socialist Party in the department of Saône-et-Loire as a deputy to the French National Assembly . Subsequently re-elected, retaining the mandate until 2012, when his district was abolished.

In 2007, he participated in the presidential campaign of Ségolène Royal .

In 2008 at the Socialist Party in Reims, along with Benoit Amon, supported Martin Aubrey's candidacy in the struggle for leadership in the party, which ended in victory [3] .

In 2008 he became chairman of the general council of the department of Saone and Loire.

In 2011, fought for the nomination of his candidacy from the socialists in the presidential elections of 2012 [4] .

In 2012, he was appointed Minister of Production Resumption in the Government of Jean-Marc Herault .

March 31, 2014 received a portfolio of the Minister of Economy, Production and Digital Technology in the first government of Manuel Waltz . He was critical of the neoliberal and pro-market course of the government.

He became the initiator of a government decree of May 14, 2014 (No. 2014–479 [5] ), restricting access of foreign capital to enterprises of strategic importance. The decree expanded the scope of application of Article R. 153-2 of the in the 2005 edition, when the De Villepin government identified areas where foreign investment required permission from the authorities to protect national interests [6] .

In 2016, having decided to fight for the nomination of the Socialist Party in the presidential elections , Montebur announced the Le Projet France program (Project France), which combined Jean-Pierre Shevenman’s 2002 ideas in defense of France’s national sovereignty and the 2007 proposal by Ségolène Royal. social update [8] .

Personal life

In 2014, Arno Montebur married Oreli Filippetti , who was the Minister of Culture in the Waltz government. In September 2015, their daughter Jeanne was born, but on March 3, 2017 it became known that this marriage broke up [10] .
