Biography

Born on October 20, 1920 in Pärnu. She studied from 1938 to 1941 at the Department of Humanities and Arts at the University of Tartu. In 1941, she left for Germany, having married Hans Georg von Sievers. Studied at the universities of Breslau, Würzburg and Innsbruck; in 1950 she graduated from the University of Würzburg, passing state exams in French, German and Latin; received an academic degree of a license in Paris and Lund.

Since 1949 she lived in Paris, worked as a secretary and translator in government organizations. From 1964 to 1986, he was a linguist at the French National Center for Scientific Research. In 1993-1994 he was a visiting professor at the University of Tartu [2] . Her articles were devoted to language studies and literature, as well as the translation of works by Estonian authors into French and French into Estonian. A significant part of the articles was not published until the collapse of the USSR.

Fanny de Sievers was a Christian believer and condemned the processes of Islamization of Europe, comparing France with a dying monastery [3] .

Died June 22, 2011 in French Obonne.
