The Apollo Belt , also known as the Iliac Furrow, is a term used to describe parts of human anatomy. Similarly, the abdominal area is described, limited to small grooves extending from the ileal (femoral) crest to the pubis.
The term ileal sulcus, however, has never been indexed in PubMed . [1] Although the term is no longer used in the standard international anatomical classification, it used to be a completely formal anatomical term. [2] In modern usage, surface anatomy is often discussed in terms of close structures such as the inguinal ligament or iliac crest.
The term "ileal groove" is still common when reading books on art history [3] , and the term " Apollo belt" is often used by bodybuilders and their fans. The expression “Adonis belt” is found [4] , although less frequently, out of a feeling for Adonis, like any handsome young man (see Myth about Adonis ).
