Club career

In adult football he made his debut in 1970 with appearances for the Norrkoping club team, in which he spent four seasons, taking part in 98 championship matches.

During 1975-1976 he defended the colors of the IFK Sundsvall club team.

In 1977 he moved to the Gothenburg club, for which he played 2 seasons. He completed his professional career as a soccer player with performances for the Gothenburg team in 1979.

Team appearances

In 1970 he made his debut in official matches as part of the national team of Sweden . During his career in the national team, which lasted 10 years, he spent in the team only 19 matches, scoring 2 goals. As part of the team, he was a participant in the 1978 World Cup in Argentina .

Coach Career

He began his coaching career shortly after the end of his player’s career, in 1982, having headed the coaching staff of the Vestra Frölund club.

In 1985, he worked for some time as the head coach of the Norwegian Volerengi , however a year later, in 1986, he accepted the offer to return to his homeland and head the coaching staff of the Swedish national team . Under the leadership of Nurdin, the Swedish national team won the right to participate in the final part of the World Cup for the first time since 1978 and became a participant in the final tournament of the 1990 World Cup , held in Italy . On the Italian fields, the Scandinavians performed extremely unsuccessfully, having lost all three games of the group stage and prematurely stopped the tournament, after which Nurdin left the team.

In the same 1990, the coach returned to club work, again leading the Volerengi team, stayed in Norway for the next five years, having also managed to work with the teams of Drebak-Frogn and Lun clubs.

After two years of work in the UAE with the Al-Wasl team, he returned to his homeland in 1997, where he worked with the Norrkoping and AIK clubs.

From 2003 to 2009, the place of coaching was the Swedish club Jönköping Södra . In 2016, he resumed his coaching career at the IFC Malmö club.
