Biography

Born on June 20, 1913 in St. Petersburg, in the family of the writer Alexander Mikhailovich Konoplyantsev (1875-1946), author of the biography of the philosopher Konstantin Leontyev, and Sophia Pavlovny Konoplyantseva (Pokrovskaya) (1883-1980). Childhood, which coincided with the civil war, spent in Yelets.

In 1937 - graduated from the Moscow Geological Prospecting Institute .

In 1947 - defended his thesis.

In 1967 - defended his doctoral dissertation.

In 1970 he was awarded the title of professor.

From 1937 to 1946, he held various positions ranging from a hydrogeological engineer to a party chief in the system of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, the People's Commissariat of Chemical Industry, the People's Commissariat of Heavy Industry.

From 1949 to 1954 - Head of the 2nd Main Geological Department of the USSR Mingeo .

From 1954 to 1957 - Deputy Minister of Geology and Subsoil Protection of the USSR.

Since 1957 - head of the department of resources, dynamics and groundwater regime in VSEGINGEO.

Died February 15, 2003 in Moscow .

Scientific Activities

One of the founders of the theory of groundwater regime.

He supervised the development of a plan for locating the state support network for monitoring the groundwater regime, making hydrogeological forecasts.

Scientific editor and co-author of the well-known work - "Methodological guidelines for the study of groundwater regime."

The discoverer of the Malo-Karatausky fresh water field in Kazakhstan.
